Emma loves reading books and jumped at the opportunity to write a book review for the competition. She has won herself £80 worth of Bloomsbury Books which she hopes to receive before school finishes on Friday so she can enjoy them over the summer holidays.
By David Walliams
David Walliams, in this book, has tried to put forward if you work hard enough at your dream nobody can stop you achieving it, there may be many obstacles along the way but, you must never give in.
In this book you laugh and cry. For example, you might cry when sadly the main character (Ben) finds out his grandma has cancer and then tragically dies of it. Alternatively, you may laugh when Ben comes last scoring 0/40 in a ballroom dancing competition!
The story line & language used are brilliant, it explains firstly, how Ben hates going to his granny’s house every Friday, however as the story goes on it describes how Ben slowly begins to enjoy visiting granny. Finally he is sad to lose her.
This book was a great read; consequently I would recommend it to any child who loves reading emotional fiction.
Improvement would be difficult!
